Bicycle's history

  Do you know that the first bicycle in the world did not have pedals?

One of the earliest inventions was a wooden working machine called the "Hobby Horse". The rider pushed his feet against the ground to make the wheels turn.

This wasn't useful enough,so pedals were added on the front wheel. People called this new machine the "Bone Shaker" because it was uncomfortable to ride.

Later, the new machine called "Penny Farthing" with a giant front wheel appeared, but it was not very save.

  Then inventors switched the wheels--the big wheel in the back and the small wheel in front.

  Until 1885, inventors made more improvement. They used metal farmers and the rubber ties for comfort. Soon, bicycles became very popular.
