本章中主要讲了Winston在日记本上写下了内心深处对于未来、无产阶级、真理的看法。

If there is hope, it lies in the proles. Until they become conscious they will never rebel ,and until after they have rebelled they cannot become conscious.认清这个世界,未来的希望在哪里?Winston 寄希望于无产阶级。他认识到只有人民觉醒,他们才会反抗;只有他们反抗了 ,他们才算 觉醒。

The mute protest in your own bones, the instinctive feeling that the conditions you lived were intolerable and at some other time they must have been different ….I understand HOW: I do not understand WHY.

Winston心中无声的抗拒,在追问为什么。

The heresy of heresies was common sense 。在大多数人都认为某件事正常的时候,Winston的直觉告诉自己这不对,但是他也在怀疑自己,怀疑自己的想法为什么和大多数人相悖,是不是自己错了。在怀疑否认自己后,他重新认识到自己要坚持这份真。The obvious, the silly and the true had got to be defended. Truisms are true, hold on to that! 主人公写下:Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four .If that is granted, all else follows. 自由是敢于说出真相的自由!
