重症医学科里，一位心跳呼吸骤停的患者己成功脱机，气管插管拔除了，呼吸机撤除了。
这位患者是呼吸内科的一名陪护，在病房里突然倒地，护士发现后立即胸外按压并送入重症医学科。
插管，上呼吸机，然后就是护士日日夜夜的陪伴。
吸痰，气道湿化，翻身，调整呼吸机参数……

深夜，他从疼痛中醒来，胸口像一把小刀在那扎啊扎，疼痛使他喘不过气来，额头上冒出了黄豆大的汗珠。儿女们都不在身边，老伴早己过世，能陪伴他的，只有他自已。
挣扎中他拔打了120,一位年轻姑娘教他靠床半坐着，嚼服家中备的阿斯匹林和玻立维，安抚他救护车马上就到。
朦胧中，有人破门而入，有人给他吸氧，有人给他推药，剧烈的疼痛渐渐远去，他被抬上了救护车。
吗啡的作用下，他睡着了，再醒来时儿子己陪护在身边，这时他才知道，就在他睡着时，心脏己放入了二个支架，突发心肌梗死的他得救了。
