Paronella Park from Everlasting to Everlasting

I joined a great day-night tour today, which includes Josephine Falls – Mamu Tropical Skywalk – Paronella Park. It was nice to see both day and night scene of Paronella Park and we also enjoyed wallaby sighting in the evening on the way back to Cairns.

Basically, it can provide a good learning opportunity to go on a guided tour, especially if the guide is a brilliant story teller, and our Tommy is actually such a practical talent who is fantastic with his commentary. It seems to be the norm in Australia that a tour guide is supposed to be an all-rounder, being able to drive tourists around while introducing the individual tourist attractions and handling all the other related tasks.

I was engaged in the story of the Spanish family who made Paronella Park what it is today and was inspired by the hero José who used his wisdom and efforts in order to fulfill his childhood dream - building an entertainment castle open to the public. Despite the miserable suffering that Paronella Park had gone through over the course of history, it remains an unforgettable legend in people’s mind and I hope more support action can be done by the local authorities so as to protect and maintain this hidden jewel.

However, compared with a self-guided tour, an obvious disadvantage related to going on a guided tour is that you may suffer from restricted time enjoying the sightseeing as well as taking photographs where you are interested. Faced with limited given time, we made full use of every moment efficiently and eventually managed to capture some not bad photos while enjoying the breathtaking natural beauty.
