      THE ART of Film is a tool to focus a lens on the future, to investigate and challenge scientific theories, to inspire and encourage speculation about the nature of the universe and our place within it. Throughout the history of film, both art and technology have been employed together to create thing known and unknown and to imagine them as a part of our quest to understand worlds beyond our own.   電影藝術是一種工具，人們可以用它來聚焦未來，審視和挑戰科學理論，鼓勵和激發對宇宙萬物本源的猜測。在電影史上，藝術和科技一直被用來創造已知和未知，來滿足人類渴望理解萬物之奧秘的訴求。

      With Prometheus we were given the chance to explore where fantasy intersects with reality, and to create a world of images and objects, which expand and surpass the boundaries of contemporary science and which question the validity of our accepted beliefs. 電影"普羅米修斯"給了我們機會去探索“想象”與"現實"之間的邊界，並且它創造了一個充滿具體影像和實物的世界，擴展并超越了當代科技之局限，對人們廣泛接受的信仰的可信度提出了疑問。

      In collaboration with the many artists, crafts people, and technicians whose work is illustrated in the following pages, I began a creative journey, which began simply in one room, with walls completely covered artwork, and culminated with futuristic machines race across the galaxy to explore gigantic alien environments inhabited by fantastic creatures, in the hope of learning something new about origins of human life. 在接下來的內容中，大家會欣賞到許多藝術家，工匠和技術人員的作品，我和他們一起合作，踏上了一次充滿創意的旅程，這一切都始於一個小房間，房間墻上佈滿的藝術作品描繪了一個前所未有的場景，未來先進的飛船橫穿銀河系，帶著尋求人類生命起源的希望，去探索浩瀚宇宙中奇異無比的外星生命。
