结束了词汇的部分，今天开始就进入了拼写，作者提到了一些方法如眼部训练、联想记忆等方法通过训练你的大脑来消除拼写错误，但我认为现在所有有都在使用电脑或者手机等具有自动纠错功能的输入工具，很难真正能够训练到我们的吧。不过有一些有趣的规则我觉得可以值得分享：

Consider 11 verbs that end in the letter R:

1. in-FER              IN-fer-ence

2. pre-FER           PRE-fer-ence

3. re-FER             RE-fer-ence

4. con-FER          CON-fer-ence

5. de-FER            DE-fer-ence

6. oc-CUR            oc-CUR-rence

7. in-CUR             in-CUR-rence

8. con-CUR          con-CUR-rence

9. re-CUR            re-CUR-rence

10. de-TER          de-TER-rence

11. ab-HOR         ab-HOR-rence

You realize that each verb is accented on the last syllable. You will notice also that in each instance the R is preceded by a single vowel. Now here is one of the very, very few rules of English spelling to which there is no exception: Every verb ending in R preceded by a single vowel and accented on the final syllable forms its noun with -ence.

是不是感觉找到了人生真谛的感觉，那什么时候双写R什么时候不双写R呢？

可以再回看上面十个词，前面5个的词变成名词之后重音回到了前面的音节，因此直接加上ence即可；而后面六个单词的重音保持在最后一个音节不变，因此双写R.

这个规则感觉很有用的样子，作者最后补了一句，只有一个例外：perseverance
