Writing | An Introduction of NAFTA

NAFTA, to be specific, the North American Free Trade Agreement, was a trade agreement signed by Canada, Mexico, and the United States, creating a trilateral trade bloc in North America. This agreement came into force in January 1994, but it had taken years of negotiation before that. It reduced or eliminated customs duties among its member countries, which had a profound effect on trade, relations, especially in agriculture. For instance, many Mexican fruits and vegetables flew into the US because of the NAFTA.

The agreement had both positive and negative impacts on its members. Most economic analyses indicated that NAFTA has been beneficial to the North American economies and the average citizen, but harmed a small minority of workers in industries exposed to trade competition. But as a whole, it still did good for the three countries' economy.

Overall, to my review, it still benefited all three members and helped the economy growth among these three countries and made them powerful among the world economic field.
