US to Leave UNESCO over Anti-Israel Bias

The United States is pulling out of UNESCO,the United Nations organization that encourages worldwide cooperation in eduction,sscience,science,and culture.
美国宣布将退出联合国教科文组织（UNESCO）,组织鼓励各国在教育、科学和文化领域开展合作。

In a statement on Thursday,the U.S. State Department says a "need four fundamental reform" and "anti-Israel bias" are reasons for the withedrawal.
周四，美国国务院在一份申明中表示，因该组织“组织需要进行根本性改革”以及对“以色列存在偏见”而决定退出。

The decision woll take effect Dec.31,2018.The U.S. will seek s "permanent observer" status instead.
该决定将于2018年12月31日生效。美国将继续保留“永久观察国”的地位。

The United States stopped funding UNESCO after it voted to include Palestins as a memrber in 2011.
2011年，联合国教科文组织经投票接纳巴勒斯坦为成员国后，美国不在为其提供经费。

But it has kept an office at UNESCO and owns about $550 million in back payments.
但美国仍在联合国教课文组织保留办公室并拖欠了其5.5亿美元的会费。

U.S. offcials said Seretary of State Rex Tillerson made the decison.
