Most music has a regular pulse to it. Some music, Gregorian chant, forexample, doesn’t have a beat. In classical music, there is a beat, which isoften supressed or subdued.

The units of 2,3: “music in duple/triple metre”.

The line that separates the groups are called bar lines or measure lines.(小节线)

Each unit constitutes a bar or a measure.(小节)

The two axes/coordinates of music: pitch and duration. (sound and time)

记谱法的起源:公元900年的修道院(从小蝌蚪文成了分离的符号)– 1200~1600年的完善(逐渐从只有pitch到加上了duration)。

Syncopation is hearing an accent off the beat.
