【赏析】

本章节中I love you为主线，时空在corridor→canteen→Victory Square→the wood中层层推进，层层铺垫，展开了Winston和Julia的浪漫约会。

从最初在走廊上，the girl had slipped something into his hand. 男主拿到纸条后内心的忐忑和猜测，直到打开纸条看到I love you 时的震惊，he felt a fire were burning in his belly .以至于满脑子都在想how to get in touch with the girl and arrange a meeting . 万般思虑后终于决定在canteen 与女孩接头.

在餐厅的段落中是比较有意思的，天天想法子接近女孩，却是见不到人,内心的种种煎熬….his whole mind and body seemed to be afflicted with an unbearable sensitivity ,a sort of transparency ，which made every movement ,every sound ,every contact ,every word that he had to speak or listen to ,an agony. Even in sleep he could not altogether escape from her image …..魂牵梦绕，胡思乱想；第二次差点就说上话，却被不开眼的Wilsher叫住，可爱的男主拿斧子劈了wilsher的心都有了…Winston had a hallucination of himself smashing a pick-axe right into the middle of it .与心上人说两句话好难…..最后一次更有趣，男主紧紧抓住机会，脚下使绊子，绊倒了甲虫男（beetle-like man）方才与女主说上话。其中的惊险刺激可见一斑。两人也终于约定了在广场见面。

故事又向前推进到Victory Square,广场上在人群和嘈杂声的掩护下，两人再一次约定在小树林里见面。在corridor、canteen、square发生的一切都是为了两人在小树林约会做铺垫。

小树林里两人终于会面，充满了mindless tenderness . 没有了telescreen和microphones，美好的事物在眼前一一展开，bluebells ,chocolate ,thrush…尤其是画眉鸟歌唱的这一段---美轮美奂he stopped thinking and merely felt…the flood of music drove all speculations out of his mind 目测这两章应该是描写最美妙的，一扫前面章节的压抑….此前在Winston梦中出现的Golden Country 终于出现了….
