There are two things we are going to talk about in today's lesson:
1.what to do if you feel sick
身体不适怎么办
2.what to do if you lose your passport
丢了护照怎么办
Part 1：身体不适怎么办
be about to do something when ... = 正做什么事情的时候
For example:
I was about to leave the office when the telephone rang.
我刚要下班，这时候电话响了。
We were just about to leave when Jerry arrived.
Jerry来的时候我们刚要走。
911 is the emergency number to call for help in the United States.
The emergency number in the United Kingdom is 999. So dail 999 if you are in the United Kingdom.
go to the emergency room = 看急症
Going to the emergency room can help you receive timely treatment.
There's a big difference between the medical system in China and in other countries.
However,in some other countries,a fever or diarhea is not categoried as a medical emergency.
If you got a fever and you think you need immediate treatment,you may be disapointed.
In some countries like Australia,emergencies are divided into different categories.
It's not unusual to wait for 4 or 5 hours if you get a skin trauma for example.
Prescription drug = 处方药
OTC drug = Over The Counter drug = 非处方药
urgent care clinics = 急诊诊所
You can search for urgent care clinics online and locate the nearest clinic.

It was a pain in his lower back.
他的下背部非常疼。
It was a pain in my chest.
I have a pain in the chest.
我的胸口疼。
a pain in + 身体部位 = 什么地方疼
hurt = 疼
For example:
My knees hurt a lot.
My head hurts a lot.
自己对病情的判断：
I think I broke my leg.
我觉得我的腿骨折了。
dull = 隐隐的，纯的
dull pain = 隐隐作痛
For example:
-What does your pain feel like?
-It was a dull pain at first-not too bad.
dull = 枯燥的，乏味的
For example:
I felt she found me boring and dull.
sharp pain = 剧烈的痛
throbbing pain = 阵痛
burning pain = 火辣辣的痛
scale = 规模，范围
on a scale of = 在某个范围内
For example:
On a scale of 1 to 10,my pain was a 7.
The salesman was diagnosed with depression.
那个销售诊断出了抑郁症。
Her illness was diagnosed as cancer.
她被诊断为得了癌症。
other symptoms:
He felt dizzy,and he threw up.
He started to sweat and breathe quickly.
He was wet from all his sweating.
I am feeling dizzy and a little nauseous.
I am feeling drowsy and weak.
有医保：
The hospital is on my health plan.
My insurance will cover the fees.
Part 2：丢了护照怎么办
upsetting = 令人心烦意乱的
freak out = 崩溃，吓坏了
Step 1:
Go to the police station.
Tell the police officer that you lost your passport.
Get a copy of the police report.
Step 2:
Contact the nearest embassy for your country.
Report that you lost your passport and need a new one.
"I lost my passport and I have reported it to the police.I need to apply for a new passport".
Step 3:
Apply for a passport.
emergency passport = 临时护照
"I need to apply for an emergency passport because I have to leave the country in 5 days".
You will need to prepare:
1.copies of your passport and visa
2.passport photos
3.police report
4.fill out a passport application and statement
After you submit your application and pay for the fees,all you have to do is wait for the new passport.
