The greatest risk is to waste your life and compromise

Boston Beer Co., founded in 1984, is the second largest producer of refined brewers in the United States and currently has a market capitalization of about $1800,000,000 . In the very beginning, the founder Jim Koch nearly smashed his own life twice. In the book Quench Your Own Thirst: Business Lessons Learned Over a Beer or Two he shared these two experiences, and expressed his attitude towards risk and entrepreneurship . At the age of 24, Koch, a law master at Harvard University, found that he had two ways to go ——doing  law  works or working in a big company in the future, none of which he wanted. At that time,he felt as if he was drifting in a swift river. There was no doubt that if he kept doing so,he would be smashed into the rapids after graduation. As a result, he chose to drop out. At the age of 35, Koch, tired of the business world, quit his job as an enterprise consultant at the Boston Consulting Firm, and founded the Boston Beer Company with family heirloom recipes and the money borrowed from relatives and friends. "Most of the risks are not risk," Koch said in the book. Doing what one loves is not the only reason to start a new life. If you do, you can find out what you love, or avoid getting too far away from your path." Koch believes that people should not always be keen on work and career issues. On the contrary, he firmly reckons that work is a part of life and identification, which could not be ignored. The most suitable work for you remains there, which worths exploring , and even spending several years to find it out. Take a risk and, if necessary, knock it all off and start over. After all, most of the risks are not risk. In addition, it is the biggest risk to waste life in order to do what they do not really like to do, and compromise again and again."

创业前,创始人吉姆·科赫(Jim Koch)曾两次“砸毁”了自己的人生,他在《创业,先满足自己的渴望》(Quench Your Own Thirst: Business Lessons Learned Over a Beer or Two)一书中分享了这两次经历,并表达了自己对风险及创业的态度。
