Taylor Swift used to put her emphasis on rural music and got her own “reputation” merely through the magic embedded within her voice such as “all too well” and “safe and sound”. However, recently she successfully transformed her former rural music style into pop music.

“Reputation” as another tremendous shift ensuing “1989” successfully hit the top list of “Billboard” as one of the most influential electronic pop. “The album had a linear timeline, starting with how I felt when I started working on the album, and transitioning to how I feel now.” explained by Taylor Swift.

The top music, or to be specific, the album opener is lead by"...Ready for It?", mainly focusing on pop and electronic, which can be further defined as “electpop”, with elements of high speed and mixed instrument. It makes my heart beat faster and even echoes in my mind every time I put my Beats on.

My favorite one is “Delicate”. It strikes me as enlightening and inspiring not only for its beautiful flow of therhythm but also for its deeper implied meaning that to be what you want yourself to be without worrying about the “delicate and fancy veneers”. This song also reflects her inner pursuit for simpleness and purity by writing “you must like me for me”.  In her lyrics, indirectly aspiring for individualism, relief, and freedom. To be honest, I am listening to this song right now after preparing for the final exams all day long. It pumps new energy in me, refreshes my mind, revitalize my soul every time I feel exhausted whether physically or mentally. Swift's stated in an interview that her goal for "Delicate" was to use the vocoder(a synthesizer that produces sounds from an analysis of speech input) to create an "emotional" and "vulnerable" sound for the track. She elaborated by saying this song is mainly about "what happens when you meet somebody that you really want in your life and then you start worrying about what they've heard before they met you.". Besides, I can also relate to the lyrics of this song for it reminds me of my initial motto that “be what I want to be, do what I want to do regardless of anything, anyone else.”

The twelfth song on the album, "Dress", is my second favorite one. It is said that it was specially created for her bestie—Karlie Kloss, a world-famous super model, a hardworking entrepreneur and Victoria’s Secret angle since 2011. It serves as a gift and blessing to Karlie to highlight their everlasting and unbreakable friendship after all kinds of rumors and obstacles. Furthermore, it also delivers her own individual pursuit for the kind of love that she can totally throw herself all in without fear, the kind of passion that will consume her, turning her upside down, and the kind of memory that can be treasured and tasted over and over again for the rest of her life.
