An activity stopped by the weather

Amusement parks can work their magic on most of people, especially for children. I guess some children will make a birthday wish, which about hoping their parents are able to take them to amusement parks. I remember when I was eight years old, my parents promised me at my birthday party that they could take me to the Shijingshan amusement park on the summer vacation. So I was eager to expect the day that I could go there. Finally, I waited until my parents decided which day we could go there. My father took a day off on purpose, for he was afraid that there would be an amount of people in the amusement park on weekends. However, the weather was not cooperating. We watched the weather forecast in advance, and the weather guy told us that it could rain heavily recently. I didn't buy it, and I even hung a sunny doll on the window. But it was raining cats and dogs in the morning. Then my parents told me that it was time to take a rain check. I was super disappointed, and we ended up going to the bookstore, buying some exercise books to review those things that I had learned in that semester.
