Samsung 李健熙

Chairman Lee is an authoritarian leader. All the Samsung staff members wear the same colour uniforms and new recruits have to study him and participate in team building.

After his travel to the U.S., Lee realized Samsung had to make a great change if it wanted to  beat Sony. And he made a 3-day speech talking about his vision and stategy for change to the executives.

He was aggresive and visionary, and knew there is an opportunity presented by the digital age. He seized this chance by improving their product quality and marketing strategy.

After finding out the emloyees were still making poor quality products, he was furious and set fire to 15 million dollars worth of products, which turned out to be a turning point for Samsung.

He is an architect that transformed Sumsang from bargain basement to top-of-the-range.
