铜元正面以珠圈分为两部分，珠圈内镌汉文“大清铜币”四字，珠圈外上端铸满文，中间分别刻有地名为铸造局，其中两枚左右两旁分铸“户部”二字，另两枚刻“丁末”。下端皆镌刻币值“当制钱十文”。
该组大清铜币背面皆铸龙图，边缘铸英文字样，龙纹雕刻精致，生动自然，磅礴大气，十分精美。既可见满汉文化的融合，也明确标示了西方文化的介入。
