godsend n.

释义：a very helpful or valuable event, person, or thing

“godsend”字面的意思是“上帝派来的”，也就是我们常说的“天赐之物”，常常用来表示非常有帮助的人或物，在有些语境中有“雪中送炭” “及时雨”的意思。

例① 当我们想说一个人或物非常有帮助时，除了想到可以用“very helpful”，还可以试试用“godsend”。比如我们可以用它来夸人：

With her strong work ethic and can-do attitude, Sherry is a godsend for Phenomenal English.

“godsend”后面的介词可以用 for 或 to。我们如果读到了一本好书，对自己很有帮助，就可以评论这本书是个“godsend”。
