To konw Barbara Oakley is merely by accendent .when I tried to dive into the  congnitive science to find out how I can improve my learning method,and i racalled my memory about bad habits in my high school(then i realized what a pity i did not know congnitive science which can save me a lot of useless time to study).

It is really a amazing journey to meet these things,such as the concept,the meaning(connotative meaning,implication-we should detect how the Chinese word “意义”translate into English)etc.the way to these things is by Barbara.

This legend,who named Barbara, is mutiple identities,like educator,writer,engineer an so on.she worked in a lot of place: 

serving as a Russian translator on Soviet trawlers up in the Bering Sea, teaching in China, going from US Army private to Regular Army Captain, and working as a radio operator at the South Pole Station in the Antarctic.

and fortunately she meet her husband in south pole station in the antarctic journey,just like the words" I had to go to the end of the earth to meet that man ".what a luck!

Barbara contribute to applying knowledge and discipline into learners ,as well as "real world".she wrote books:mind shift,a mind for numbers.and give the TED speech,a lesson to MOOC named "learning to learn".
