Autumn mornings are often chilly. In chilly（阴冷的）weather, you might want a light jacket.
freezing（寒冷的）
On freezing（寒冷的）mornings, it can be very, very difficult to get out of bed.
If the weather is so freezing that you can see your breath(哈气) you probably will need to bundle up(多穿几层衣服让自己保持温暖).
Drizzling（毛毛细雨）
Drizzling（毛毛细雨）means that it is raining lightly. Drizzle is so light that it can look like mist(雾).
Chucking it down 倾盆大雨
This means that it is raining a lot. It isreally heavy.
As I am walking to work my clothes are getting soaked.（湿透）
We get to work, only a little damp(有一点点湿) from the rain thanks to the umbrella.
overcast(多云的)，overhead（乌云密布的）
From my window I can see that it’s very overcast(多云的) and overhead（乌云密布的）.
storm(暴风雨)
You are sure there’s going to be a storm(暴风雨); you can see it in the sky.
lightning(闪电)
And then you see lightning. Lightning(闪电) is a large electric flash of light.

After the lightning, you hear thunder(雷声).

Usually you will hear thunder after lightning. We call these storms thunderstorms(雷暴雨).

A gale(大风) is a very strong wind, which can be dangerous.
It is sunny and hot.

scorcher(大热天)
It is scorcher today(大热天), which means it is extremely hot.
The weather forecast(天气预报) is the prediction for the next day or week of what the weather will be like.
frost(霜)，sleeting(雨夹雪)
Tomorrow will begin with a bit of frost(霜) on the ground and it will be sleeting(雨夹雪).
a flurry of snow(一阵降雪)，blizzard（大暴雪）
In the afternoon there will be a flurry of snow(一阵降雪) but then it will turn into a blizzard（大暴雪）by the evening.
A flurry of snow means that there will be light snow for a short time.
A blizzard is a storm with lots of snow and wind.
slush(雪泥)
The snow on the floor will turn into slush(雪泥).
Slush is snow or ice that has partly melted.
It will be below freezing for most of the day which means the temperature is below 0.
