Cat Fairy

That was a rainy afternoon, when I was running home from school. I had to get back on my fastest speed as I forgot to bring an umbrella and my bag was not waterproof.

By my sight, I noticed there were tens of cats sheltering under the roof. It was such a narrow place that I could not be as thin as a cat to squeeze all my belongings in that shadow. I quicken my steps and shoot a glance at the tiger skin cat right behind the tree, staring. Its eyes were deep green and its fur seems even smoother than a piece of silk. I ran through the rain while thinking of the cat.

The flat block had a strange design, they planted roles of trees as the shelter, which looked like a green wall stood intensively by the road. When there was brazing sunlight up on the sky, those trees would be a great nature conditioner to produce cool and wet wind. But a situation like the heavy rain right now, the leaves would be used as little spoons which will pour a huge water drop on the head of mine when there was a wind, strong enough to overturn the leaves. It was sad I did not have a pair of mosquito-liked wings what can move me away from the rain. So as cats.

In the sound of leaves fluttering, I felt my text book and exercise papers were going to be ruined if I do not do anything. I turned my head and search for a bield and I saw the cat, sat behind the nearby tree, yawned then stared and laughed. What, a laughing cat? I held my bag in my arms and came closer to the cat, “Are you laughing at me?” I asked. The cat, with one eyebrow raised high and the other squinting like an injured eye, was silent for a long time and licked its paw. I shook my head and signed, I wonder if I’m confused by a cat. I raised to it and was about to take the right track.

“Most people will lost their dignity when they got wet from the rain. Hope you are not.”

A rough but careless voice sounded in my ears. I stood at the position and looked strangely to the cat. Its black and grey markings were visible, but they shone brightly in the absurd storm. “If I have the same skin as you.” I rushed into the rain and left those words to the cat.

“Wait, wait!” The cat's sound did not sound so steady. It trotted along to keep up with me, “Not only will you wet your things, and will catch a cold yourself, don’t you want to find a way to get dry? I can help.” He said proudly. I stopped and the cat got much prouder, waited for me to ask. “Most kitties like to attract humans with their strange abilities and mock them. Hope you are not one.” I told him with a half-smile, “People live an unpredictable life, do you envy?” He put his paws together and dragged a creepy look. “I can help.” He repeated.

My clothes were all dry in a split second, and a breeze rippled around me, cutting off the rain. I walked in front, and he followed me all the way down to my house.

“What’s your name?” I finally asked, knowing there would be no answer.

In the distant Huaxv country, there was a cat fairy.
