In China, many people discuss the common topic of "Foreigners are all very open". It's as if westerners, regardless of their nationalities or individual differences, are all disloyal.

In western countries, most teenagers go through a stage in life refer to as "finding themselves" stage. They start casual dating in middled or high school to learn more about how to communicate with the opposite gender and get to know what it's like to have a girlfriend or a boyfriend. at this developmental stage, they are at the "unsettled" phase in their lives and might seek experience behind this sort of behavior is that Westners believe that humans learn best from experience. When they have a chance to intimately get to know several people at a young age, they will get a better idea of what kind of spouse or partner they are looking for in the future.

Britain leads aid efforts with £6m donation

Britain has committed £6m to help500,000 people devastated by the typhoon.

David Cameron phonedthe president of the Philippines, Bnigno Aquino III, to offer the country’s thoughtsto the victims of Typhoon Haiyan and promise support in dealing with theaftermath.

A Downing Street spokeswoman said: “The prime minister said our thoughts are with all thoseaffected, especially those who have lost ones. This weekend, we announced apackage of £6 million in humanitarian support to help the people affected. Wehave also sent four humanitarian experts to the Philippines.”

Mr Aquino visited Tacloban yesterday to see the scale of the destruction.

Meanwhile, the European Commission said it would provide £2.5m in relief for the worst-affected areas. The World Food Programme confirmed it was airlifting 40 tonnes of high-energy biscuits, enough to feed 120,000 people for a day, aswell as communications equipment.

The WFP has alsoallocated £1.25million forthe disaster response. Its officials have joined an assessment mission todetermine the damage in the provinces of Leyte and Samar.

Do you think that rich countries have a responsibility to help poor countries when disasters happen?

In the past two or three decades, it seems that the number of natural disasters around the world has been increasing especially in developing nations. Also because of the Internet and greater connectivity than ever before, citizens can find out about disasters like earthquakes and hurricanes almost immediately. These citizens then put pressure on their own governments to provide humanitarian support. Governments usually put together aid packages of a few million dollars, as well as airlifting support and medical supplies, providing relief to the worst-affected areas until the local governments can understand the scale of the destruction. I do not think that it is necessarily the responsibility of foreign governments to provide aid, but it just means that there is more goodwill between nations in the future, and this is always a good thing.

Do you think the weather in your country has changed in recent years?

With the development of society in China, many people now drive cars instead of walking or riding bicycles. Every day on the roads in Beijing and other big cities, there is bumper to bumper traffic. All of these cars cause a lot of pollution which is bad for the environment and bad for our health. The government should do something to make us use cars less, and use buses and bicycles more.

Tell me about a time someone didn’t tell you the complete truth.

Someone who didn’t tell me the complete truth was my mother during my University Entrance Exams. At that time my father was very sick, but my mother didn’t want to disturb my studies, so she told me that my father was in another city on business. After my exams I found out that my father had a lung cancer and was very sick.

Do you think the weather in your countryhas changed in recent years?

China’s economy has been expanding very rapidly in the last couple of decades. As a result, more and more people are buying cars, which are quickly filling up the roads with bumper-to-bumper traffic. This leads to more emissions like carbon dioxide and methane being released into the atmosphere. We can see the results of this not only in the smog which covers major cities like Beijing and Shanghai, but also in the rising temperature in the cities, as well as reduced rainfall. These kinds of climate problems should definitely be of concern to the government as well as normal citizens.

What do you think the government could do to encourage people to use public transport more?

When it comes to the question of what the government can do to encourage people to use public transport more, firstly, I think that the government should make more space for buses on the road. Secondly, they should reduce the price of the tickets so that everyone can afford to travel. Next, the government should limit the number of driving licenses that it gives out each year. Finally, people will start to travel more by bus and subway.

What do you think the government could do to encourage people to use public transport more?

In order for the government to encourage more people to use public transport like buses or subway trains, it must do two things: provide faster cheaper public transportation for people who already useit; and also focus on getting drivers to change their travel habits.

The first goal could be achieved by widening bus lanes so that buses can travel faster, and also by increasing the regularity of subway trains. Drivers could be encouraged to use their cars lessby increasing road tax or offering tax incentives to leave their cars at home.

What do you usually do at the weekend?

Generally speaking, at the weekend I don’t have a lot of free time. This is because I work Monday to Friday, so I have to do all my chores and errands at the weekend, that means that I am always cleaning my apartment, doing my paperwork for the week, and also running to the bank to make sure all the bills are paid. If I am lucky, maybe I have time to play with my son for a few hours.

I guess that a lot of families live like this. It doesn’t mean that they like living like this, but society is so competitive these days you just have to work all the time to survive.

1. Do you often visit museums?

I don’t really like visiting real museums because in China most of the exhibits are behind glass, and looking at piecesof old jade and ancient vases is not exactly my idea of a good time. I am a bigfan of online museums though. You can go to The British Museum online and seeall their exhibits in detail. You can zoom in, rotate and examine the objects. It’s an amazing virtual experience.

Can you think of any times when it’s necessary to wait for others?

A time that people have to wait is before the exam. Everyone is nervous and we want to finish the exam quickly.

A time when people have to wait is whenthey are getting married. The bridegroom has to stand in the church waiting for the bride to arrive. Everyone is waiting wondering if she has cold feet, but then when she walks up the aisle with her father in her beautiful white wedding dress, everyone breathes a sigh of relief.

What kind of good habits do you think children need to learn?

I think that children need to learn goodstudy habits and to do their homework every night. They should also learn to listen to their parents.

Young children are naturally quite dirty,so they need to learn habits about how to stay clean like washing their faceand brushing their teeth every day. They should also avoid picking their nose, cover their mouth when they sneeze, and learn to chew with their mouth closed. These are just good manners really.

What can you do to make housework more interesting?

I like to listen to music when I am doing housework.
