China’s teachers are not parents’ slaves! They are the engineers of humans’ hearts and souls!

Today is a half sunny and half cloudy day.
Everything went perfectly well except that…
Oops!
I cut off a parent and her son, and delete their contact infomation  on WeChat within seconds.
Yes!
I did it.

And,
I am lovin’ it.

Please don’t  judge
before I show you the “juicy” and ludicrous part.

She found me through a friend who she is friend with.
Good start, right?

Except when she made her first call, I smelled the trouble, big trouble.

This was a lady talking like a burning fireball, and behaving like a slave owner; her voice invaded like a nasty, rushing and unstoppable hurricane or worse, a  non-stop shotting AK47.

When she spoke, the whole nation must stop, go quiet, and listen to her!

She sounded so starving – craving blood-thirstily for power: the power to take charge, a lot of them.

Otherwise, she would die, I guess.

She didn’t pay me a cent before and after asking for help. It’s fine. I took her call, consulted her patiently, and even spent 30+ precious minutes of my time recommending my equally precious books to her and her son afterwards.
“I see you and hear you,” I remembered saying.
I told her that everything would eventually go well, and I showed my understanding of her concerns.

Not only didn’t she show the slightest gratitude (I assume that in China, a nation that cared about respect, manner and compassion, when you helped someone, they should at least show some sort of kindness; it has nothing to do with money, and this has been the tradition ever since Confucius’ time).

After all, “ 滴水之恩, 涌泉相报.”

Instead, on the next day, this “full of pride,” burning lady ordered me so naturally as if she has been doing this forever:
“ Oh, You(你,而不是您)need to talk to my son in the US, he might be in need of …”
I didn’t reply;

The next day, one more “did you contact my son? You know, he is busy in the US…”

As if her one and only, irreplaceable son is the damn center of the universe.

I am sorry, lady, but really,

“Who do you think you are?!”

I am sorry, my “queen,” even if you were Michelle Obama, and had a zillion dollars in bank, I would not give a damn.

Because you don’t respect teachers – the engineers of humans’ souls.

Plus, this is a mother whose “poor little darling” son was a D student spending lots and lots of money having fun in states without even being able to read a damn article, and write a damn essay in his class.
Oh, even better, he hung out with his same “ poor little darling” Chinese classmates, eating fast food 3 meals all days, and didn’t  even speak English!

...

Long story short, I would rather never see you and your “ poor little darling” ever again, let alone making money out of you.

I couldn’t afford – my pride as a teacher from a nation that used to respect educators.

Educators are supposed to be students’ masters!

Educators worked damn hard to serve students because of their passion, compassion, and most importantly, they care.

Don’t abuse their care!

Don’t bully them!

Because if you did, as true educators who are so wise and gracious, they wouldn’t scream, fight and even complain,

Like magicians,

They would vanish, right in front of you!

Leaving you baffled, regretful and best of the best, can’t do a thing.
