Good afternoon,distinguished judges. I’m No. 1 candidate,applying for primary school English teacher. My topic is Spring Festival. Now I’m ready. Class begins.

Ⅰ. Warming-up and lead-in

T:Boys and girls,can you sing the song Merry Christmas?Please sing along with me.

T:Christmas is an important day in western countries. So,do you know which day is the most important for us Chinese?Yeah,the Chinese Spring Festival.

Ⅱ. Presentation

T:Let’s watch the video. What festival is it about?What can you see in the video?

T:It’s about Spring Festival. The people are celebrating it.

T:How do people celebrate the Spring Festival?Let’s read the passage to learn. While reading,pay attention to the two questions:When is the Spring Festival?How do Chinese people celebrate the festival?

T:Have you finished it?David,please answer my question in English. Don’t be nervous. Will you say it once more?Very good. The Spring Festival is on the first day of the Chinese New Year. On the festival,people have a dragon dance and lantern and paper?cut on the eve of the Spring Festival. What is dragon dance,do you know?Dragon is an animal. It has wings and claws,and breathes out fire. Dragon dance means “舞龙”. It is a form of traditional dance. Understand?

T:Let’s go on to another new word,lantern. Lantern is actually a lamp in a metal frame. Besides dragon dance and latern,red paper?cut can also be seen in the Spring Festival. Paper?cut is used to decorate windows and doors.

T:What do people say to each other on the New Year?Lily,will you have a try?

T:That’s right. One says “Happy New Year” and the other answers “The same to you. ”

T:Let’s play a game,named picking apples. There is an apple tree on the blackboard. Some cards are on the tree. There is a word or phrase on each card. I will read a word. Who repeats exactly first can get the cards on the tree. Whoever gets the most will win. Do you understand me?I will ask two students to the front. Who would like to have a try?Be brave. T:I know many of you love the Spring Festival. What do you do on the Chinese New Year?What makes you happy on the Chinese New Year?Do you visit friends,buy new clothes or get lucky money?OK,today let’s share the experiences and happiness with each other. Please have group work and let your friends know about your New Year. You can ask questions about others’ experience and have a report after the discussion.

T:Our life is changing. Do you know how your parents had a new year 20 years ago?At home,ask them and write it down,and hand it in tomorrow morning.
