Love Lasts Forever

This articleis originally written and posted by the director of the volunteer department of Asian Heart Hospital.

Last week, I received a special inquiry from Su Zhou, a high school student in WHBC who have served as a volunteer at our hospital before. He intended to provide financial help to children in hospital and asked me for advice about which way is better.

When I first related this message to my colleagues, they were confused:“Where did this high student, who weren’t employed, get all those money?”As it turned out, loving mathematics, Mr. Zhou launched a Wechat platform called“Cool Math,”where a lot of other people who loved mathematics complimented his original articles and awarded him with money. He has already collected about 2000 RMB.

How to use that amount of money? Mr. Zhou didn’t spend it on goods but planned at first thinking about donate it to children in our hospital. After our discussion, we finally decided that Su shall offer a patient called Li Yi(alias) a red pocket containing 1000 RMB and fruits, snacks, and books bought, using the rest of the money.

Donating fruits and books

LiYi, born with heart diseases, is only 5-year-old; since his mother and two sisters all have psychosis, facing financial crisis, his father alone hardly holds up the family. During Yi’s stay in hospital, his surgery fees were covered by charity funds; in order to reduce their expenditures, nurses took turns to buy breakfast for Yi and his father.

Su is also very happy after helping Yi and Yi’s family; for Yi and his father, this could be an invaluable education of love. We all sincerely wish that Yi could recover sooner than expected; wealsohope that more “Su Zhou” would be willing to make an effort to help childrenwith congenital diseases.
