2018-04-30 Eclectic or egotistical?

"The biggest problem with alternative agriculture today, is that it seeks to incorporate bits and pieces of the industrial model and bits and pieces of the artisanal model. This will not work... In the middle of the road, you get the worst of both worlds. "

Humans, of course, are always smart. We can convert almost everything that we do not want or need into things that we want and need.  When the productivity is behind the population explosion, humans develop industrial agriculture to feed more population; with the improvement of technology and management, we get surplus food; then we convert extra food into the manure of animals and generate meat; but when we are no more satisfied with "more" food, we turn our back on it and seek for alternative to go back to "high-grade" food; so now we have "organic labels"; but since the yield of organic food is lower than industrial food, smart people now try to incorporate organic model into industrial model. This is, indeed, the great invention in human history that we buy the advantages of both systems, which is, eclectic.

But this is the funniest and most ridiculous part: why we just cannot go back to get the simple things we need?

Now we drink fresh grape juice, while taking pills of grape-seeds to balance our diet and nutrition. But why cannot we just devour the grape as a whole?

We are just making troubles for ourselves to make us feel that we are taking the full control of our food, nature, life, etc. So pathetic the human egotism! or should I say, smart-ass?
