6/27/18 FSHN Sympothium

1. I went to Xianbing (Eric)'s poster. He gave a very nice intro: what is the main topic; the significance of the problem I want to solve; the approach I used. In the first 3-5 sentences.

6/9-12 ASN meeting

1. Oral: bring the big picture when doing the intro; the significance of your study. Otherwise, people may not feel this study is important/interesting.

1. Always remind your audience how your presentation relates to them; so they have the motivation to listen to you;

2. Be passionate;

3. have an outline;

4. If you want to include things in slides, then be sure to explain it well; otherwise, no need to include it; 

5. tell a story;

6. In the end of the presentation: have a summary of take-home message; for the audience to talk about your presentation after they go out;

7. slides: 7/7: each slides no more than 7 lines; each line no more than 7 words;
