田黄石是寿山石系中的瑰宝，素有“万石中之王”尊号。其色泽温润可爱，肌理细密，自明清以来就被印人视为“印石之王”。数百年来田黄石极受藏家至爱，正如俗语所说：“黄金易得，田黄难求”。
早在一千多年前，我国已有人开始采集，到了明清两代田黄石更是盛名于世。许多达官显贵，文人雅士竞相刻意收集田黄石。相传清初时期皇帝祭天，神案上都少不了一方上品田黄石。因此，田黄石一直盛名不衰，身价倍增，曾有古话“一两田黄十两金”。明代寿山石中的田黄石已御定为宫廷之印玺。到了清代，皇帝更是喜爱田黄石。
相传乾隆皇帝曾经做过一个梦，梦见自己受到玉皇大帝的召见，玉皇大帝赐给他一块黄色的石头，还赐给他“福寿田”三个大字。乾隆梦醒之后，觉得这是一个祥瑞之兆，但是却对“福寿田”三字百思不得其解。于是，次日他在上朝之时，将梦境叙述出来让大臣们给自己圆梦。一位大臣听后连忙跪倒禀告，称“福寿田”三字应以“福州、寿山、田黄石”为解，玉皇大帝赐给皇上您的一定是产于福州寿山的田黄石。乾隆皇帝听后极为高兴，认为这确实是老天爷对自己的恩赐，从此，每年元旦祭天大礼中，乾隆皇帝都要在供案上供一块田黄石以祈求上苍保佑，足见乾隆对寿山田黄石的喜爱。
而这枚非同一般的“同道堂”印章正是一块田黄，这使不可一世的慈禧太后对田黄产生了敬畏之情，从内心感觉到田黄的神奇和通灵。发展到最后，她一见到田黄便沐浴焚香。目空一切的“老佛爷”的这种惊人之举，让珍贵已极的田黄更加身价百倍。以至到后来官场权贵敬石成风，当朝为官的无不以求得一块田黄护官为幸。从此以后，田黄便成了权力的象征。末代皇帝溥仪出逃流亡的时候，随身携带的物品屈指可数，但在逃亡的整个过程中他始终保存着一件田黄“三连章”印玺。可见极其珍贵！此枚寿山田黄乾隆玉印，品相极佳，重量罕见 ，雕工精湛，寿山田黄的上品 ，其文物价值，艺术收藏价值，升值空间非常巨大！
