THE DOOMED KING

The Doomed King

                No flying from fate

It was a rainy day, a fateful day.

And that was a cup of tea, the fatal tea.

The minister stood upon and looked at him with a solemn expression.

"Provide that I could have the warrant for ruling this kingdom."

He asked the king.

The king was in agony, and he was really irritated by the minister's disloyalty.

"Get out!" He thundered in his mind, but was

cognizant of the fact that anger did no good for lightening the conversation which was of great definitive.

The rain was still pouring.

It evoked the time that he used to be a good king of decency and good judgement, almost always emerged in public with a gracious smile.

He had a good conduct and believed in the principle of equal opportunity for everyone.

In the course of the last ten years, he has appropriated a large sum of money for establishing hospitals and universities.

He is the only orthodox succession of the kingdom and has had gone through the extremely rigorous army training from his very young age.

His kingdom grew stronger and his people loved him.

Until …

The king became a totally authoritarian after the death of Queen Lilith, his beloved wife，who supposed to be his whole lifetime lover that will never be apart from each other till doomsday.

His personal life fell into disarray.

For starters, the king was decadent.

"As nothing can assure permanent happiness"

he said," So why not steep yourself into spiritual life instead of the substantial one, which carries a lot of sorrows"

He almost kept drinking all day long and always deliberately took excessive dosage of pills.

Later came the nightmare of all his people, which might confirm that he was totally insane.

He mobilized all the young and old in his country to cause the war between nations.

"We have to expand, cause we have to stay on top."

"So that's why they brought war to our land and took Lilith"

"They will pay dearly for what they have done to me."
