Manage A Change

When I woke up this morning, one friend sent me the following chart, which makes me think on how we can really change. Sometimes it is not easy to change not because we don’t want a change but how to change is a big challenge to us. This reminds me of what I learnt in previous years on how a new behavior generates.

Here are a few tips on New behavior generator.

1.People learn new behaviors by creating mental maps in their nervous systems.

2.The more complete you make your mental maps, the more likely you will be to achieve the new behavior you want.

3.Focusing on your goal is the quickest way to achieve new behavior.

4.People already have the resources they need to achieve new behaviors. Success is a function of accessing and organizing what is already there.

Then how to anchor a resource state?

The basic steps for creating an anchor for a resource are:

1. Remember a time when you experienced the resourceful state strongly. See what you saw,hear what you heard and feel what you felt as vividly as you can.

2. Find something to use as an anchor to trigger your resource states( objects,mental picture, key word, gesture,etc)

3. Put yourself back into the resourceful experience. See what you saw,hear what you heard and feel what you felt as vividly as you can. Connect the memory of this experience to your anchor by shifting your attention momentarily to the cue or trigger.

4. Clear your mind and change your state of moment. Do something to distract yourself.

5. Put your attention on your anchor. You should immediately get the resourceful feeling. If you don’t , repeat 3 and 4 a few more times.
