There be

There be句型属于陈述句的一种，指的是存在，通常翻译成“有”。

have表示“拥有”，必须有主语；there be表示“存在的有”，可以没有主语，是一种倒装句。

陈述句

There is an apple on the table. 桌子上有个苹果。
等价于：
An apple on the table in there.


There are many people in the classroom. 教室里有好多人。
等价于：
Many people in the classroom are there.


There lived an old man in that house. 那间房子里住着一个老人。
等价于：
An old man in that house lived there.

There is some bread. 有一些面包。

There is a doll in my room. 我的房间里有一个洋娃娃。

There are two concerts tomorrow. 明天有两场演唱会。

Waiter, there is a hair in my soup. 服务员，我的汤里有个头发。

There is no doubt that you will be late. 毫无疑问你会迟到。

There is a garden in out school. 我们学校有一个花园。

There are five desks in the room now. 现在有五张桌子在房间里。
