35、英语小故事（英汉对照）“没有小演员，只有小角色”

A little boy came home crying. Because in an activity of the school, the teacher assigned him a small role while his classmates played the leading roles.

一个小男孩哭着回了家。因为在参加学校的一个活动时，同学们都演到了主要角色，老师却只给他安排了一个小角色。

After hearing, the mother put her watch in the boy's hand calmly, and then asked, “What do you see?”

妈妈听到这个情况，镇定地把自己的手表放到男孩手里，然后问：“你能看到什么？”

The boy replied, “Gold watchcase（表壳） and pointer（指针）.” After she opened the back of the watch, the mother asked the boy the same question, when he saw many small gears and screws.

男孩回答：“金表壳和指针。” 妈妈把表盘后盖打开，男孩看到许多小齿轮和螺丝。妈妈又问了他同样的问题。

The mother said to the boy, “If this watch lacks any one of these parts, it will not turn around. Even those parts you almost cannot see are as also important.”

妈妈对男孩说：“这只手表缺了任何一个零件都不会走。即便是你几乎看不到的零件也同等重要。”

“Even those parts you almost cannot see are as also important.”妈妈是在告诉我们不显眼不代表不重要。无论置身何种舞台，重要的是无可替代。
