Reading Diary 2

1. What does this section say?

This section is about a change and the reactions the mice and the little people had. After the cheese had been found, the mice continued their routine and stayed alert to see if there had any changes from the day before while the little people became indolent and comfortable. So when the change happened, the mice had prepared for it and took actions immediately. However, the little people were just at a loss and couldn’t believe what had happened. They didn’t adopt any ways to solve the problems, just screaming and yelling.

2. What does this section mean for you? Give a story from your life.

Although the little people’s behavior is not right, their behavior seemed to be understood. There are too many similar things happening in our life. Sometimes we take it for granted that something should exist instead of thinking why it exists. Many times we lack the awareness of asking questions and are easily immersed in the existing things without realizing that things are changing. So we need to cultivate crisis awareness in case we are eliminated by the changing world.

In the senior high school, I was always used to passively accept knowledge without doubt. I thought that the knowledge of teachers and books is enough, we just need to learn and use them proficiently. I ignored the importance of independent thinking and asking why so that when I encountered some unfamiliar problems that I hadn't done before, I had no way to start. At that time the teacher told me to learn to ask why and find the root cause of things. I began to do as the teacher said. Soon I found that my ability to solve problems had improved. It owes to breaking the thoughts of course and learning to ask why. So don't get used to staying in your comfort zone. Learn to ask why.
