About 520.

"520" seems like a tradition for couples in China these days. On this day, people show love to their lovers by giving fancy gifts or sending red packets on Wechat. It seems interesting that “the sense of ceremony” is becoming a criterion in a relationship, especially among young people.

I remember when I was young, people only celebrated Chinese Valentine's Day,some may have a nice meal on their wedding anniversaries or something. However, we want more now. We seem to celebrate festivals as many as we can, if one is missed, we are getting emotional and even doubt if our partner loves us still.

If this is only between the couples, then it is acceptable for most of us. But with the popularity of Wechat, people tend to show what they've got from their partner on moments.  One or two posts may seem so sweet, but piles of them can be really disturbing, especially when it becomes a trend to show off.

I've seen people posting how much money they received from their boyfriends or husbands ,most are special numbers like "520","1314"or even"13145.20". I've also seen people receiving just "8.8"from their lovers. Under this situation, I really doubt whether some couples will have a nice and warm cuddle that night or not.

When I was in my 20s, I also like showing people how I was loved by others. But now, I find that the most important thing is not how you are loved  but how you love yourself. I hope "520" can be a day that people celebrate how they love themselves back but showing how much love they deserve.

These are just some random thoughts from me on this special day, I don't mean to offend anyone, I do feel okay if you continue to share your love with us on Wechat moments.
