A few minutes later, the bear headed back to our camp. He proceeded to pull and bit the wire, eyes burning with rage. All of a sudden, Elli and I were scared stiff. “What if he finally breaks in?” whispered Elli with trembling lips. “No worries, as the helicopter is said to come soon.” I kept comforting my wife, tenderly patting her on the shoulder, while waiting anxiously for rescue. Scarcely had the bear broken into our camp than I summoned up my courage and made a second attempt to spray the bear. Out of everyone’s expectation, it didn’t work. An air of uneasiness settled over us.

At that very moment, the helicopter arrived. Out came the rescuers, whose arrival provided a ray of hope. Ultimately, they captured the bear with professional tools. Not until we witnessed the bear being caged could we be said to have escaped danger. When we come to our senses, Elli and I could not help expressing our heartfelt gratitude to the rescuers. Releasing a sigh of relief, I exchanged meaningful glances with Elli, for we were then enabled to photograph that bear, free from safety concerns. Up to now, those pictures will frequently remind me of the horrible but unforgettable experience we have went through.
