Can We Do Better?
"Really? again! How many times did you pee your pants today? "
My son ran away, naked as I’m cleaning up the pee on the floor,
My husband and I have been hitting walls with our two year and 9 months little man lately. Don't get me wrong, he is the best two-year-old that I can ask for. At the same time, we've been facing some normal toddler tantrums everyday. Sometimes, the situation drives us nuts.
I read parenting books before my son was born. I believe books have answers for pretty much everything. When I read on No-Drama Discipline: "...rethink what discipline really means, reclaiming it as a term that's not about punishment or control, but teaching and skill building - and doing so from a place of love, respect and emotional connection."
As parents, sometimes we are so tired. We don't want our kids to make a mess, and forget that they learn by doing things themselves. Other times, we want our kids to do things our way, and forget that they are individual people. They have their own thoughts that can't be controlled by us.
Raising kids isn't an easy job, but hope we can get better everyday.
