Fēlīx et fūr 菲利克斯和小偷

post cēnam Quīntus rogāvit, 'pater, cūr Fēlīx nunc est lībertus? ōlim erat servus tuus.'
tum pater tōtam rem nārrāvit.

After dinner, Quintus asked: “Father, some time ago, Felix was your slave; why did he become a freedman now?”

饭后，昆图斯问道：“父亲，不久以前，腓力斯是您的奴隶，为什么他现在成了自由人？”

Caecilius: Fēlīx ōlim in tablīnō scrībēbat. Fēlīx erat sōlus. Clēmēns et Grumiō cibum in forō quaerēbant. Metella aberat, quod sorōrem vīsitābat.

Caecilius: once ago, Felix was writing in the study along. Clement and Grumio looked for food in the forum. Metella was out to visit her sister.

卡西利乌斯：曾经有一次，费利克斯在书房里写作，克莱门特和格鲁米奥去广场上买菜，梅特拉出去看她姐姐了。

Fēlīx:pater tuus aberat, quod argentāriam in forō administrābat.

Felix: your father was out to look after the banker's stall in the forum.

菲利克斯：你的父亲也去广场经营他的银行摊位了。

Caecilius:nēmō erat in vīllā nisi Fēlīx et īnfāns. parvus īnfāns in cubiculō dormiēbat. subitō fūr per iānuam intrāvit. fūr tacitē ātrium circumspectāvit; tacitē cubiculum intrāvit, ubi  īnfāns erat. Fēlīx nihil audīvit, quod intentē labōrābat. fūr parvum īnfantem ē vīllā tacitē portābat. subitō īnfāns vāgīvit. Fēlīx, postquam clāmōrem audīvit, statim ē tablīnō festīnāvit.

'furcifer!' clāmāvit Fēlīx īrātus, et fūrem ferōciter pulsāvit. Fēlīx fūrem paene necāvit. ita Fēlīx parvum īnfantem servāvit.

Caecilius: no one was in the house except Felix and the baby. The baby was sleeping in the bedroom. Suddenly, a thief came through the door. The thief looked around the atrium and went bedroom quietly. Felix heard nothing because he worked intently. The thief began to carry the little child out of the house silently. Suddenly, the infant cried. When Felix heard crying at once, he hurried out of the study.

“Scoundrel!” Felix shouted angrily and punched the thief fiercely. He nearly killed the thief. In this way, Felix has saved the baby.

卡西利乌斯：除了费利克斯和孩子，家里没有其他人。婴儿在卧室里睡觉。突然，一个小偷从门口进来。小偷环视了一下大厅，悄悄地溜进了卧室。费利克斯什么也没听见，因为他专心工作。小偷开始悄悄地把小孩抱出家门。突然，婴儿哭闹了。费利克斯立刻听到闹声，急忙跑出书房。

“无赖的家伙！”费利克斯愤怒地喊道，狠狠地打了小偷一拳。他差点杀死那个小偷。就这样，菲利克斯保住了孩子。

Fēlīx: dominus, postquam rem audīvit, erat laetus et mē līberāvit. ego igitur sum lībertus.

Felix: when the master heard the thing, he was pleased. He set me free. Therefore I became a freedman.

费利克斯：主人听到这件事后，很高兴。他放了我。因此我成了一个自由人。

Quīntus:sed quis erat īnfāns?

Quintus： But who was the infant?

昆图斯：那婴儿是谁？

Caecilius:erat Quīntus!

Caecilius: He is Quintus.

卡西利乌斯：他是昆图斯。
