Subject: Flag Day: xVM version updated
The putback for:
6849090 Need to synch with newer versions of Xen and associated tools
is a major update of Xen and related tools, and is a flag day for all
xVM users. ON BFU archives and xVM packages must not be mixed across
this putback; that is, if your ON archives include this putback, then so
must your xVM packages.
As a reminder, xVM is NOT updated as part of BFU. To update xVM
packages, use this script before BFU:
/ws/xvm-gate/public/bin/update_xvm
If you use virt-manager, note that an upgrade is required - the new
virt-manager will be available in snv_121.
If you're building xvm-gate, you may find you need to update your build
machine to a more recent version of Nevada. Note that the build process
has changed: now, the build-all script doesn't produce output unless new
warnings or errors are found during the build.
If you have an existing xvm-gate checkout, you cannot directly update it
to include this putback. The official xVM gate has moved onto
opensolaris.org. You can get a copy by getting the update-gate script
from this page:
http://opensolaris.org/os/project/xen-gate/
and running
./update-gate xvm-child ssh://anon at hg dot opensolaris dot org/hg/xen-gate/xvm-gate+
The usual RTI process is still required for putbacks to the xVM gate,
obviously.
Please send any questions to xen-discuss at opensolaris dot org
