The successful candidate for this role will provide strong technical delivery
capability within the regional strategic development team, delivering a suite of
applications and services to support the back-office processing of securities
products in Asia Pacific. They will be responsible for detailed design and
development of key application components leveraging XML database and relational
database technologies as well as integration frameworks across multiple
solutions within the APAC back office space.
They will bring strong technical development capabilities to the team having a
demonstrable track record of delivering high quality IT solutions. The ideal
candidate will have several years experience in developing data warehouse
solutions and will be able to work across both the technical domain and also
integrate and communicate well with users, testers and other stakeholders in the
IT and business teams.
The candidate will be an innovative self-starter, with strong technical skills
and a keen drive for technical excellence. They will need to be a great team
player who not only leads by example, but demonstrates a capacity and
willingness to take on new and challenging roles within the team as required by
this dynamic programme.
Working as part of a multi-skilled programme team, the individual will need to
be comfortable working with ambiguity and be able to propose options and deliver
solutions in a technically advanced and complex application space. The
programme delivery follows a well defined SCRUM model, so experience working in
this manner is highly desirable.
Required Skills:
- Read / write / speak in English
- Expertise in XML databases (Marklogic preferred)
- Expertise in XQuery and XPath
- Strong SQL and relational database experience (Oracle preferred)
- Ability to communicate technical issues in a clear and concise manner
- Be comfortable working on a global codebase
- Writing unit tests, and ensuring full test coverage of requirements
Highly desirable skills:
- Proficient with ETL tools (Datastage preferred)
- UML knowledge and practical experience
- Experience of agile and iterative delivery methods (SCRUM, RUP, EUP etc)
- Practical experience in investment banking back-office highly desirable
- Architecture and design skills on complex, "green field", bespoke
developments
- Ability to design solutions and technical components from scratch
- Experience of constructing high-volume, high-performance, scalable
solutions
- Test Driven Development skills
- JBehave / easyB testing frameworks
- Practical experience of working in SCRUM teams
