text/x-yaml                                     yml yaml

rails.xml:
text/rhtml
application/x-ruby
text/x-yaml

sed '/ruby/p' -n mime.types
sudo su --

user wide:

Copy files to .local/share/gedit/plugins/ or /usr/lib/gedit/plugins/, if you want a system wide install.
