How to install JDK in AIX?
1. mkdir /opt/install
2. upload the Java6_64.sdk to /opt/install
3. # smit
(1)Select "Software Installation and Maintenance" and Press ENTER
(2)Select "Install and Update Software" and Press ENTER
(3)Select "Install Software" and Press ENTER
Directly input /opt/install in the [] as following:
* INPUT device / directory for software [/opt/install]
(4) You will see as following on screen:
* INPUT device / directory for software /opt/install
* SOFTWARE to install [_all_latest] +
PREVIEW only? (install operation will NOT occur) no +
COMMIT software updates? yes +
SAVE replaced files? no +
AUTOMATICALLY install requisite software? yes +
EXTEND file systems if space needed? yes +
OVERWRITE same or newer versions? no +
VERIFY install and check file sizes? no +
Include corresponding LANGUAGE filesets? yes +
DETAILED output? no +
Process multiple volumes? yes +
ACCEPT new license agreements? no +
Preview new LICENSE agreements? no +
At this time, Press ESC+4. Then, there should be a menu in the end of the screen as following:

wait a few minutes until the commnad status switch to OK.

(6) Press ESC+0 exit.
How to uninstall the JDK in AIX?
(1)#smit
(2)Select "Software Installation and Maintenance" and Press ENTER.
(3)Select "Software Maintenance and Utilities" and Press ENTER.
(4)Select "Remove Installed Software" and Press ENTER.
(5)Press ESC+4, select "Java6_64.sdk " and Press ENTER. Then screen as following:

* SOFTWARE name [Java6_64.sdk] +
PREVIEW only? (remove operation will NOT occur) yes +
REMOVE dependent software? no +
EXTEND file systems if space needed? no +
DETAILED output? no +
(6) Move to " PREVIEW only? (remove operation will NOT occur) no " item, and Press ESC+4, select "no" and Press Enter.

* SOFTWARE name [Java6_64.sdk] +
PREVIEW only? (remove operation will NOT occur) no +
REMOVE dependent software? no +
EXTEND file systems if space needed? no +

(7)Press ENTER to execute uninstallation.
