inode, FAT32, and NTFS

 

In traditional Unix-style file system, each file is associated with an inode that is identified by an inode number in the file system where it resides. Inodes store information of files and folders, such as user and group ownership, access mode (read, write, execute permissions) and type of file.

FAT stands for "File Allocation Table".

1.  Maximum File size is up to 4 GB.

2.  File & folder Encryption, Data compression, and Grant permissions to files and folder is not possible.

NTFS stands for "New Technology File System"

1.  Maximum File size is up to 16TB.

2.  File & folder Encryption, Data compression, and Grant permissions to files and folder is possible.
