In an attempt to be more organized and save money, I lay down a thorough planfirstly and then got down to specific tasks.

I toredown the wall separating the kitchen and living room, allowing the new kitchen tobecome an open space that immediately expands out to the living room. A barn-woodwhite-top island table was planted in front of the new stove along with myoriginal bar-stools to take advantage of the ample space left by the removal. Ialso demolished the overhung cabinets and replaced them with two big metal-bracedopen shelves each standing beside a large white-colored hood. Various sorts ofwhite dishes are piled up neatly there, with some for display and decorationand some for practical use. There is still plenty of space in the bottom layer,where I can put a small vase with flowers. The old fridge was removed, where instead,a new sink was placed into the new dark marble counter. The side wall was also adornedwith a mix of portrait and landscape painting, blending well with the overallaesthetic configuration.

Beforethe refurbishment with the kitchen started, actually I re-tiled the floor withwood planks, re-plastered the ceiling and painted the walls white. With the twobig rectangular flat lights embedded in the ceiling gone, I installed severalsmall round ones and spotlights. In the vaulted-ceiling corner I added anotherdouble-slide window, letting in even more light. And this part of the house hasbeen turned into a casual dining area with a soothing view into the yard.

Now with all the renovation finished, I can finally unwind and enjoy my fulfillingwork.
