  • We often, maybe even mostly, let our schedule schedule itself, ignoring the fact that time, not money, is our only true leadership asset.
  • The key was that my work life fit my definition of work-life balance.
  • if you do not think about what you want, you do not know how to put yourself in the right situations. You teach people how to treat you.
  • You teach people how to treat you and unless otherwise specified in your job description, it's okay to set some boundaries.

COURSE 2.2 Where Does the Time Go?

  • The best way to know where your time goes is to keep track.
  • One week is probably not enough,a month is probably really good.
  • Break down your time to at least 30 minute intervals. And to learn even more, consider tracking yourself in 15 minute intervals.
  • Remember, you're doing this for yourself, so no lying.
  • Once you understand where your time goes, you can begin to determine where you can fine-tune your schedule and your approach to your work.
  • Strategic Reserve Time
    • basic job functions-how many hours you're going to give to work=Strategic Reserve Time
    • Let's start with a certain week.
      -And at the beginning of the week,how much time do you have available?
    • Then how much time you spend on what we call administrative things like emails, phone calls, meetings.
    • How much time do you spend on your regular duties and do you have any time you spend on catch up work?
  • do you typically get special requests?
