上周末忙着上课没来及整理笔记，原计划这两天补上的，然而我忽略了整理笔记所耗得气力和精力，算了算了，顺其自然好了，强求不来。
今天咱们来学学替罪羔羊，大家应该能从标题中直接看出来，替罪羔羊的其中一个表达就是fall guy。
代罪羔羊又称替罪羔羊、替罪羊，原指犹太教信徒于赎罪日时，按《圣经.利未记》记载的仪式将羔羊献作赎罪祭。现普遍意指在某错误事件上，替代犯过者承受责任、受罚受罪的无辜人，即替罪者。
为什么“替罪羔羊”的可以用fall guy来表示？其实这跟一个体育项目有关。

One such expression is fall guy.
fall guy（替罪羊）就是这样一个短语。
popular adj. 流行的，通俗的；受欢迎的；大众的；普及的
我们常说的流行音乐就称为pop music.常用的短语我们也复习一下：
be popular with 为……所喜欢；受……欢迎（感觉这个短语初中经常出现啊）
同样表示“通俗”的词：
common：多用于物，侧重很常见，不稀奇；
ordinary：用于物，指每天发生，十分平淡无奇；用于人，指无特别之处，很一般。
common place：强调缺乏新意。
general：语气强于common，侧重大多如此，很少有例外情况。
usual：指常见常闻和常做的事或举动，强调惯常性。
popular：指适应大众喜好、需要，为大家所公认或接受。
universal：与general同义，但语气较强，侧重对每个人或事物都适用，根本没有例外。
make a jump form A to B表示“从A演变到B”
A fall guy is the person who someone decides will be the loser or victim.
替罪羊是指由他人决定成为输家或牺牲者的人。
fall guy在前文中我们已经提到，表示“替罪羔羊”
victim n. 牺牲者；受害人；牺牲品，常用作以下短语：
fall a victim to 成为…的受害者；成为…的牺牲品
The first fall guys were men who wrestled for money.
最早的“fall guy”是一些靠摔跤挣钱的人。
wrestle n. 摔跤；斗争；搏斗 vi. 斗争；摔跤；斟酌 vt. 与摔跤；与…搏斗；使劲搬动

像不像我们中文说的“绞尽脑汁”？
At the end of the nineteenth century, wrestling was a very popular sport in the United States.
20世纪末，摔跤在美国是一项十分盛行的运动。
at the end of 在(…的)结尾,到(…的)尽头；达(…的)限度,到(…的)极限;在终点,在一端;最终,终了时
既可以修饰时间,也可以修饰其他（地点,人的能力等等）。也可以用来表示比喻意。
in the end of 在...的最后，多用于时间的修饰.
By the end of用于表示时间的场合，往往含有“不迟于”的意味。值得注意的是，at the end of亦可用于表示时间的场合，但其义和by the end of有所不同。试对比下面两例：
at the end of January
一月底（指一月份的最后一天）
by the end of January
一月底之前（指一月份结束前的几天）
in the end “终于”、“最后”，其义相当于 at last。
Wrestling competitions were held not only in big cities, but also at country fairs and traveling shows.
摔跤比赛不仅在大城市里举行，也在乡村集市和巡回表演中进行。
not only ...but also...不仅...而且...“既……又”，用于连接两个性质相同的词或短语。
另外，在使用not only…but also…时还应注意以下几点：
1. 有时可将but also分开用，即将but视为普通的并列连词，用于连接两个句子，然后将also用于句中（用谓语动词用在一起）。
He’s not only very fast, but he’s also got marvellous technique.
2. 该结构中的also有时可以省略，或将also换成too, as well（置于句末）。
He not only washed the car, but polished it too [as well].
3. 有时因为语境的需要，not only…but also…也可能用于连接两个性质不同的词或短语，但这多半因为承前省略的原因。
He not only goes to work on weekdays, but also on weekends.
句中的not only后接的是谓语goes to，而but also后接的却是状语 on weekends，可视为but also后承前省略了谓语动词 goes to work。
4. 当not only…but also连接两个主语时，谓语动词的数原则上与其相近的主语保持一致。
Not only the students but also their teacher is enjoying the film.
5. 为了强调，可将not only置于句首，此时其后的句子通常要用部分倒装的形式。
Not only do they need clothing, but they are also short of water.
有时也可见到不倒装的情形，此时主要见于but also后接省略结构的情况（省略只剩下主语）。
Not only my mother was unhappy, but Marian, too.

As the sport became more popular, it became less and less of a sport.
随着这项运动越来越流行，它也变得越来越不像一项体育运动。
less and less 越来越少
这是形容词的一种用法：“形容词比较级+and+形容词比较级”表示”越来越......“如：
more and more越老越多 fatter and fatter越来越胖
跟此用法比较相似的另一种用法是：”the+形容词比较级...the+形容词比较级",表示“越....就越...”如：
The harder you work, the more you will get.你工作越努力，得到的就越多。
Many of the matches were fixed.
许多比赛都是安排好的表演。
The wrestlers knew—before the match—which one of them would be the winner.
摔跤手在赛前就知道谁是赢家。
The goal in wrestling is to hold your opponent's shoulders down against the floor.
摔跤的目的是把对手的双肩按在地板上。
This is called a fall.
双肩着地就是所谓的fall。
fix vt. 安装；修理；使固定；准备 vi. 固定；注视 n. 困境；方位；贿赂
再次感慨一遍了解单词的不同词性和词义的重要性！我只知道它是“修理；固定”这样的意思，怪不得怎么翻译都觉得不对头，这才去查询了资料，原来它的词义远远不止这两个。
想到“修理”，我还记得repair和mend的都是这个意思，查了下柯林斯，发现它们的侧重点都不一样，还意外发现了另一个“修理”patch.
mend：通常指较简单的修复过程，一般不需要专门技术或特殊工具。
repair：可与mend互换，但一般指需要较高的职业技能和使用较复杂的工具进行修理。
patch：通常指类似材料修补破洞、裂缝或磨损的地方。
fix：多用于美语，仅用于指带有安装固定性质的修理。
那么问题来了，《我在故宫修文物》该用哪个修？
Sometimes, one of the wrestlers would be paid before the match to take the fall.
有时，其中一名摔跤手会在赛前被买通被打败。
He would agree to be the loser ... the fall guy.
他就会同意成为输家，也就是fall guy。
take the fall代人受罪；替罪羔羊
你看这种黑暗的暗箱操作从古至今一直都有~~
Today, a fall guy is anyone who is tricked into taking the blame for the crime or wrongdoing of someone else.
如今，fall guy是指被诱骗为他人的犯罪或不正当行为担责的人。

take the blame for为...负过失的责任；引咎；担不是
There are fall guys in many situations—people who publicly take the blame when something goes wrong.
许多情况下都有在出问题是公开承担责任的替罪羊。
go wrong出错；发生故障
A fall guy takes the rap for something wrong or illegal.
替罪羊为错误或非法的事情承担责任。
take the rap承担刑事责任；背黑锅
rap vt. 抢走；轻敲；敲击致使；使着迷vi. 敲击；交谈n. 轻敲
怎么take the tap就成了“背黑锅”了呢“有点不理解，按照这个解释，我发现了另一个短语：
beat the rap v. 逃过刑事责任
He accepts responsibility and punishment for what someone else did.
他承担了他人犯事的责任和惩罚。
The fall guy may have been involved in the situation, but was not the person who should be blamed.
替罪羊可能已经被卷入这种状况，但不是应当受到责难的人。
be involved in the situation 涉及此事
The word rap has meant blame for several hundred years.
Rap这个单词几百年前就指“惩罚”。
The expression to take the rap first was used about one hundred years ago.
Take the rap这个短语最初被用到是在大约一百多年前。
Another similar expression is bum rap.
另一个类似短语是bum rap。
similar adj. 相似的 n. 类似物 常用短语：
be similar to 与…相似
表示”相似“：
alike：指事物在性质、特征或外貌上固有的而不是偶然的相似。普通名词，只作表语。
like：普通用词，含义广泛，指多个或全部特性都相似，但并非同一个，也可指在某个特殊的偶然相似。
similar：强调不同的人或事物之间完全或部分相似，暗示可暂不考虑或无视其差异之处。
comparable：指在某一点或几点上有相似之处，可作有限或粗略的对比，尤指在价值或能力等方面可相提并论。
parallel：主要指在外表或在性质上相似到有可以相提并论的程度。
uniform：指在性质、数量、形态或程度等方面相似懂啊难看出差异的地步。
identical：语气最强，可指同一个人或物，也可指数个人或物之间完全没有差别。

A person receives a bum rap if he is found guilty of a crime ... but is really innocent.
受到不公正惩罚的这个人被认为有罪，但实际上很无辜。
Sometimes, a fall guy may not realize he is the fall guy until he is the victim of a bum rap.
有时候，替罪羊在自己成为不公正惩罚的牺牲者前，可能没有意识到自己是替罪羊。
In that case, he may feel that he has been framed.
在这种情况下，他可能认为自己被诬陷。

To frame someone is to create false evidence to make an innocent person seem guilty.
诬陷他人是指制造虚假证据使得无辜者看上去好像有罪。
Some word experts say the expression to frame someone comes from the way wood must be fitted closely around a painting or photograph to frame it.
有些词汇专家表示，to frame someone这个短语源自做相框时木板必须和画或照片紧密贴合。
In the same way, evidence must be designed perfectly if it is to frame an innocent person to make him or her seem guilty.
同样，如果要诬陷一个无辜者使其看上去像有罪，证据必须被设计得非常完美。
按这思路，那些成功诬陷别人的人也是不太容易呢~~~
