I have a driving license, but i don't like driving. I dream to hire a driver, and then i prefer to sleep in the back row.
I believe all of you have ever heard of autonomous car? which could help my dream come true.
But how does a autonomous car work ? It seems quite complicated. But today i would like to explain in a quite simple way. Let's take a human being as an example, if i'm blind, am i able to drive a car? of course not, because i can't see the road, i can't recognize if there's any obstacle in front of me.It's the same principle for a autonomous car, we need to give eyes to the car. And this special eyes are sensor. There are different kinds of sensors, such as radar, which can detect distances. As well as camera, ,which can help the car see surroundings.
Even though we have eyes, it's still not enough.In order to be a legal driver, we have to pay money and get a driving license.we have to distinguish different arrows, we need to recognize the meaning of different lamp colors, we need to brake and give gas. We can get all these knowledge after trained. For a autonomous car, all these knowledge are written by software programmer, and given a very scientific name : Algorithm.
In a word, SENSOR, ALGORITHM and MAP are the three most important parts for Autonomous Driving.
