这三个词作为动词都有“回答”之意。

answer所回答的内容可能是表示同意、反对或提供有关情况,在较广泛的意义上可针对任何人所讲的话或所做的事作出反应。例如:

reply所回答的是针对问题的陈述或声明。例如:

*She replied that she would try to help him.

respond通常指对号召、指责、请求等作出反应,也指一般口头或书面的回答或对某人行动的反应。例如:
