Something about typhoon

Hato, the 13th typhoon this year landed in southern Zhuhai, Guangdong province, around 12:50 pm Wednesday, bringing gales of 45 meters per second at its eye.

The China Southern Airlines plans to cancel 106 flights inGuangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Hong Kong. Guangdong railway authorities will suspend some trains due to situations. Because of the typhoon, the shuttle buses to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport have stopped running. Until 12:00 pm, nine flights have been delayed for over one hour at the airport.

As the typhoon was far away from here this time, it didn’t have great impact on my life. What it brought me was that the electricity was cut off for a whole day. It was rather inconvenient to my life. However, in the coastal area, we inevitably experience many typhoons every year. What impressed me most was the typhoon in 1997 and 2013. Now I would liketo talk about the typhoon in 2013, because of which we had seven days off.

At19:40 on September 22, 2013, the strong typhoon Usagi landed in Shanwei.Storm tide swept the city.At 16:00 on September 24th, it brought great damage to 63 towns of Shanwei city's six counties with a total of 16 people dying in the disaster. The flood-hit population reached 2.25 million , and 250000 people were transferred emergently with 10946 houses collapsing. As aresult, it directly resulted in the economic losses up to 10,787,120,000 yuan. The rain poured heavily those days, lasting for almost one week. The roads were flooded and we couldn’t go out for a week. During those days, I had seven days off at home.

I wish there are fewer and fewer typhoons coming here, because typhoon is a nightmare for me.
