之所以把论坛取名为“蓝厅论坛”，是因为蓝色让人联想到大海和天空，既包容万象又蕴含热情与活力，契合了和谐共存、开放共赢的理念。它寓意着我们将以海纳百川的包容精神，汲取各界智慧，深化对话交流；以纵论天下的开阔视野，把握时代脉搏，共谋发展大计。
Lanting, the name of the Forum, literally means “the blue hall”. Blue is normally associated with the sea and the sky that are all-embracing and vibrant. As such, the name is perfectly aligned with/fits perfectly with the vision of harmonious coexistence and win-win opening up. As the name indicates, we will act in an inclusive spirit to pool wisdom and deepen dialogue, and take a global perspective to take stock of the current situation and discuss the way forward together.

People used to remain divided over where the Asia-Pacific region would go in the 21st century. Some believed that Asia-Pacific region would enjoy a bright prospect given its cultural diversity and enormous potential, while others reckoned that Asia-Pacific region would face a gloomy future as problems and challenges keep cropping up.
