Hey guys, I’m James. Today, I wanna share a movie with you, called The Blind Side. The Blind Side is a 2009 film written and directed by John Lee Hancock. It was nominated for the Best Picture of Academy Award. Additionally, the charming Sandra Bullock also won the 82nd Oscar for Best Actress.

Now, let me tell you the story. Michael Oher, big Mike, was an orphan, who had no daddy, in and out of foster care and till someone kind found him, educated him that made him a great NFL (National Football League) Offensive Tackle of America. His father died in an accident and his mother was caught because of taking drugs. He had no place to live. His foster father tried to send him to the Wingate Christian School. Due to his great talent for playing balls, the coach Bert Cotton persuaded the principal to admit him. At first, Michael didn't even know what the teachers were talking about in the class. One night, the Tuohies ran into him, Leigh Anne Tuohy convinced his husband to take him home. But this one night turned into a permanent living situation. And Leigh Anne took good care of him. He really enjoyed the warm feeling of the family and they became his legal guardians later. In one rugby training, he didn't want to hurt others all the time. His coach was very anxious. Then his mom came and told him, 'The team is your family, and you have to protect them from the others. You protect the Quarterback’s blind side. How you have my back, how you have his. You never let anyone hurt him.' After that, he made a huge progress and felt pretty good at it. Then plenty of coaches from different universities invited him to come to their places, as long as his GPA (Grade Point Average) came up to 2 points. Under the circumstance, Leigh Anne got him a tutor named Miss Sue, who also had a great influence on him. Eventually, with the help of the family and Miss Sue, Michael succeeded in being admitted by Ole Miss and became an All-American.

The film is based on a true story. Michael Oher is a lucky man. Before he runs into the Tuohies, his blind side is that he can be a superb football player instead of doing nothing the whole day. There’re numerous young men who have gifts for different fields and can’t see their blind sides in the world. Everyone should try to figure out our own kindness, dignity and value, shouldn’t we?
