The Lantern Festival of our hometown

  The Lantern Festival is one of the traditional festivals in China. There are many meaningful things to do on this day---the first month of fifteen on lunar calendar. It is one of the most activities for Bai people to go to the fair. There are a big lake, and we call it Dragon pool, which water is clear and looks light blue. The water often has a few small fish to swim by. Why do we call this lake Dragon pool? There's a legend. It is said that a long time ago, there was a very long dragon flying into the lake, and it was renamed the Dragon Pool. As is known to all, dragon culture has been deeply rooted in the subconscious of each of us. It has penetrated into all fields and aspects of our culture. in addtion, Dragon is a symbol of power,  nobility and honor in Chinese traditional culture. It is also a sign of luck and success. So there are a assembly to be hosted in memory of the big dragon on the annual lantern festival.

  Besides, there is a temple of emperor near the dragon pool, which symbolizes sameness, luck and health. All people like go to the temple of emperor to burn incense and worship, pray for peace in the four seasons and family happiness. Wealthy family also give money to temple to contribute to good deeds.

  On the top of the temple, there is a cave, which is called Tianzi Cave, we can enter the cave that there is a narrow and curved road. You can follow the road to the very end of the cave. Then you will see a small pool that was placed a small bowl nearby. It is said that everyone who comes here has to drink the water with a bowl, so that it can be blessed health and safety. At the entrance of the cave, there is built the eighteen disciples of the Buddha. It looks magnificent.

  Overall, there is a busy assembly on the lantern festival. We can make and eat the sweet dumpling balls in the morning, the made of small dumpling balls are complicated, it is made of glutinous rice flour with sesame, peanut, dried fruit, sugar and animal oil. The whole family worked together to complete the production of yuanxiao---small dumpling balls. After breakfast, we hurried to go to the temple fair.
